I am passionate about advocating for students in higher education and supporting students in becoming self-advocates. I believe in taking a strengths-based approach to my work with students: every educational journey is unique to each student, and it is my privilege to support students in shaping their academic experiences.
I have always loved working with students. Before entering the world of higher education, I taught middle grades English in both Orange and Hillsborough County Public Schools. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Florida State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of South Florida, where I served as the Intake Facilitator for the Office of Academic Advocacy. That experience showed me the value of a person-centered social work approach in higher ed settings and led me to take on a role as the First- and Second Year Academic Advocate for the University of South Florida’s Saint Petersburg Campus. I am excited to continue empowering students at the University of Central Florida!
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, encountering barriers, or need support along your UCF journey, you’re not alone—and I’m here to help!
